The Reception

In the depths of the bunker beneath the Greenbrier Resort Hotel is a massive, columned room, intended to be used to hold sessions of Congress in the event of a nuclear war.

Today, it's being put to a very different and much less somber purpose.

The wedding is over; the party has begun.

"I forget--have you met my maid of honor?" says Alyx, gesturing to the dark-haired, gray-eyed young woman standing next to her.

"No, I haven't," Shepard says. She turns to the MoH and offers a handshake. "Commander Colene Shepard, Systems Alliance."

"Chell Johnson... um... Aperture Science, I guess?" She looks a little nervous, but shakes the offered hand regardless.

Considering her circumstances back home, it may have been appropriate for Shepard to add "I guess" to her introduction too.

"Nice to meet you," Shepard says. She turns back to Alyx. "Looks like there's a line forming up behind me - so I guess I better get a move on."

"You too," Shepard says. She salutes him. It's only proper.

Annabelle offers a hand to the other Shepard. "Annabelle Newfield. Nice to meet you."

Shepard shakes hands with Annabelle. "You too. I think I've seen you around...the watering hole, right?" She's not going to say "Milliways," since you never know who might be listening.
